Author Spotlight ~ Anna Hague

We're thrilled to host Anna Hauge on the blog today. We met Anna on Twitter and we're very excited to help share her newest release, Thunderstuck, which is her first paranormal title and the first in a brand new series. After reading Anna's bio, we discovered that Anna lives life in the 'fast lane' with Indy Car.  And we happen to share a few of the same favorite authors.

1. Tell us about yourself.
I live in Central Indiana with my husband who is my biggest cheerleader. We have three parrots and two dogs. My longtime career has been that of a sports journalist. I cover sports of all levels, but my favorite is IndyCar racing. My husband and I don't have children, but we've hosted 11 foreign exchange students and have visited many of their countries. We love traveling in the U.S as well, and our trip to South Dakota last summer inspired my new release and series.

2. What was the last book you read and how did you find it?
The two books I've read were completely different. I read Pepper Winters' dark romance Once a Myth, and the other was a rom-com by Jillian Jacobs titled Four Rounds.
Pepper Winters' dark romance series have long been a favorite of mine. As for Four Rounds, I needed something light and fun to raise my spirits during the Stay at Home time. I know Jillian through writing groups and the signing event, Writers on the River.

3. Who is your favorite author?
I think my favorites change both over the years and different genres. I've always been a fan of Kat Martin and Julia Quinn for historicals, Pepper Winters and Aleatha Romig for dark romance, and I don't really have a favorite for Contemporary, but lately I've discovered Chanel Cleeton, who is more women's fiction.

4. What inspired you to begin writing?
My whole life, I've always written snippets of stories, but when we lived in California, I met Kat Martin, who lived there at the time. She really encouraged me to pursue my dream and also recommended a writers' conference to attend. I did both and here I am, although life sort of got in the way for awhile, but I'm here now.

5. Do you have a writing ritual?
I don't have a real ritual. I do have an office, but my writing schedule depends a lot on my daily schedule. Right now, since sports have stopped, I've been able to write more. I have two Mini Australian Shepherds who are high energy dogs, so I have to take breaks to make them happy. I do listen to music. All kinds. If I really need to focus and get a lot finished, I listen to soft jazz because I'm not a big fan of it, and I don't get sidetracked singing along like I do other music. Soft jazz is a good background sound for me.

CHECK IT OUT!

6. Are you a plotter or a panster?
Mostly a panster. I've tried plotting, and the characters make other decisions. I have notes and a general idea of what I want, but things change a long the way. My first book Captured Hearts not only went through five title changes but also completely changed direction from how I first envisioned the book.

7. Do you read the reviews on your books?
I check reviews periodically. When you get one that's not favorable it's not fun, but then I've seen bad reviews on books from authors that I love, and realize it's part of it. You can't make everyone happy.

8. Tell us about your new release.
I love my new release. Thunderstruck is a novella that introduces my new series Storm Canyon. It's a shifter romance, my first, and like I mentioned above, a trip to South Dakota inspired it. I fell in love with the beauty of the Black Hills was so at home there. Storm Canyon is about a family of shifters who run a guest ranch in Spearfish Canyon.
GRAB IT NOW!

Here's the blurb:

Evangeline Webber was intoxicated the first time she saw the Ghost Horse at Silver Spear Ranch. But the sight of the magnificent animal shimmering in the moonlight sobered her up quick. Now, it haunts her dreams, luring her towards aloof cowboy, Maverick Cambios-Plata. Maverick is known for his calming presence around the abused horses at his rescue. The effect he has on Evangeline is far different. Her body aches to be near him, to learn all the secrets she can sense he’s keeping hidden.

With both Evangeline and Maverick harboring secrets, will revealing the truth offer them a chance at a beautiful future or destroy any chance the two may have had?

Book One in this paranormal horse shifter series.
